34 Weeks And Counting!

I am officially 34 weeks pregnant, and feeling large! The doc said I am measuring where a singleton mom would at 41 weeks (a week overdue)… so I guess my feeling large is normal. Dozer is still kicking me in the ribs, and Tank's head is ready to go- head down- very far. He is pushing against my cervix, but I am not dilated. I think they are starting to run out of room. Also-it is weird because I get contractions and I can see their backs. Tank is to the left and Dozer to the right. I often think when they kick it looks like a foot, but who knows- I could be imagining things! They are still moving like crazy- constantly, but less big movements- more little kicks and jabs.
The great news is- the doc said that at 34 weeks, we are past all the scary premature stuff! Both babies are measuring well (about 4.5-5lbs each), and if I were to go into labor they would not take active measures to stop it. Ideally, these guys will cook for another couple of weeks (37-38 is my goal), but it was nice to hear that if they were born, it would be okay. I really can’t believe we’ve made it this far without any major hiccups. I am so lucky. I spend a lot of my day with my feet up to ensure they stay put (working from home has been a godsend).

Well I guess now- we hurry up and wait for the arrival of these little guys. I am still planning on delivering vaginally (god willing), so I have not scheduled a C-Section or anything. I should be able to go into labor like a normal expecting mother does- so we will see! Only- instead of one water breaking- I will have 2. I was told that I will push Tank out- then they will break Dozer’s water, experience more contractions, and then push him out. (Again- this is all best case scenarios). I (like an idiot) thought I would push Tank out and Dozer would kind of just come out right away after- I didn’t realize the whole labor process in between… But as long as they are safe, and healthy, I think we can do anything! I have another appointment next Thursday. So until then…

33 Weeks!

I am behind on writing this- so I will keep it short and sweet. I am now 33 weeks pregnant, and things are going well! We had an ultrasound last week- and Tank weighs 4lbs 10oz, and Dozer weighs 4lbs. They are each about 17 inches long. Most importantly they are growing together! The doctor seemed pleased with their development! I have another appointment tomorrow- I am going every week now. I will be 34 weeks pregnant on Wednesday:)

This past weekend we went to Target with Mom and Dad P. Dad P. got lost in the baby shoe section- and ended up buying them each 3 pairs of shoes each! HAHA! The shoes are so cute! I can’t wait until these little guys can wear them!

32 Weeks!

I am now 32 weeks pregnant, and things are going well! The babies are kicking like crazy- which surprises me because I thought by now they’d be out of room. The doctors say I am measuring like a singleton mother would at 38 weeks… so they are definitely growing. I have another ultrasound on Tuesday to check their growth. Fingers crossed that they are on track!!

Joey and I have been using our new video camera. We were able to catch my belly moving- now I just need to figure out how to upload video so I can share it with you all.

Also the nursery is almost done! We are going to put the finishing touches on it this week- so I will post some pictures for you all to see. I made wall art- yes I know- I am not crafty at all, but I wanted to do something for their room that matched their bedding, and pull it all together…so I bought picture frames from Michaels and painted them the color of their bedding (navy and green). Joey is going to hang them today so hopefully they won’t look stupid:). A goal of mine for this week is to get their car seats installed. I have made an appointment with the fire department to have them train me the proper way. I know Joey can install them, but I just want to be sure we are doing it properly. I am definitely nesting, but it feels good to get everything together. My yoga teacher always says that when you start scrubbing the base boards, you know labor is coming soon- well, I have not gotten there yet, maybe because I can’t bend down far enough to reach the base boards, but the other nesting instincts have kicked in!

A Wedding Shower, A Baby Shower, and 31 Weeks Along

This past weekend, we traveled to Philadelphia for Whitney’s wedding shower and my baby shower! It was such a great weekend! Luckily for us the doctors gave us clearance to go as long as we stopped every hour to walk around, and to wear those tight circulation promoting socks. We followed doctor’s orders, and the car ride wasn’t too bad! I am so happy I went! The wedding shower was great! My friends were so excited to see my belly bump; I think I had a hand on my belly all weekend. Fortunately, Tank and Dozer didn’t disappoint and they kicked the entire weekend- greeting their many aunts! The baby shower was also great. My mom took inspiration from Tank’s little feet, and had baby feet shaped cookies, and Philly Soft Pretzels (my favorite) in the shape of a foot baked by my Uncle Mark’s pretzel bakery. Thanks Uncle Mark! They were delicious!

Below are a few pictures from Whit’s wedding shower and my baby shower.

Throughout the pregnancy, Joey and I have wanted pictures to capture this moment in time. My cousin Brittany was able to capture a few great shots. Below is a preview- they are great! I can’t wait to see the final photos.

Lastly, I am now 31 weeks! Yeah! We went to the doctor yesterday, and everything looks good. I am measuring at what a singleton momma would at 36 weeks. They say both babies are about 3lbs, the size of four navel oranges each! I can’t believe I am carrying 8 navel oranges in my belly. They have also been moving a lot. I am going to try to capture some of their movements on film. It is really cool to watch my stomach dance.
